Natalya Kochak/Artist Residencies

Sept 2018- May 2019: ProjectArt resident artist, Miami, Fla. I am creating art and teaching three classes a week to underserved children in Liberty City through the library system. The residency will culminate in a group show for the artists at North Miami Museum of Contemporary Art.
March: Lido Art Center, Guangzhou, China. I was awarded the artist resident at the center. I worked with the students in the college community, giving them critiques, helping them with their applications to masters programs in the United States and Europe. I also gave five lectures and did a solo show.
April: Hambidge Art Center, Georgia, USA. I was awarded a large house/ studio space in the Smokey Mountains to separate myself from society and just work on my projects.

September- January: Takt Kunstprojektraum, Berlin, Germany.I worked on a project specific to Berlin and participated in open studios through the residency.
January: Delta Art Center, Masaka, Uganda.I taught art to underprivileged children in Uganda, Africa, I also spent time working on my current art project and I traveled the country to experience life there. Awarded a Kickstarter grant for $3000 to go to Uganda to complete this project.

October: Red Gate Gallery, Beijing, China. I participated in the Beijing art scene. I showed my work while there in the studio and gallery.

Fall 2003: Auburn University–Montgomery, Montgomery, Alabama, studied business, advertising, and marketing for one semester as a complement to my art skills.
June 2003: Summer Study trip: Greece, Visited antiquities in Athens, Kalambaka, and Skopelos. Participated in workshops on different methods of printing (oil and watercolor monoprints, etching, etc.)

Natalya Kochak/Work Experience

2019: Miami International University. I am an adjunct professor in the Department of Visual Arts.
2007- current: Owner, Bluebird Design, Miami, Fla. ( We create original designs for murals, decorative painting, and faux finishes for residential and commercial spaces. We specialize in restoration as well. My company is also working on a line of high end art wallpaper named Paper POP. We travel all over the U.S. to meet our customer’s needs.
2005-current: Teach art to students privately, spanning for ages 6- adult education
2005: Oxbow, I was a TA for the college program during the summer of 2005. I was the teaching assistant for a watercolor course.
